Phd position UM-Hasselt-3
The departments of Neuroscience of Maastricht University (Netherlands) and Anatomy of the University of Hasselt (Belgium) have a joint PhD position available for the duration of three to four years.
Our research groups are part of the European Graduate School of Neuroscience (EURON) and focus on mechanisms of brain repair. We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to work on enhancement of brain repair by neuromodulation (electrical and immunological) in experimental animal models of stroke and injury. The approach is multidisciplinary and includes in vitro preparations, behavioural, electrophysiological, histological and neurochemical methods. Applicants are encouraged to apply from any area of medical, biological and psychological sciences. The applicant should ideally have a strong interest in experimental work and innovative research, and should be hard working, creative and independent. Our research teams offer a young and motivated team of Ph.D.-students and Postdocs, excellent methodological expertise and equipment, multiple international collaborations and a stimulating first class scientific environment.Research group: Prof. Dr. S.
