SONA International Conference

11th SONA International Conference

Rabat, (Morocco) June 13^rd - 17^th, 2013

The scientific program will focus on the latest advances in all neuroscience topics from basic to clinical neuroscience.

Symposia dealing with all areas of neuroscience research are invited.

The symposium proposer should submit a proposal containing:

• The title of the planned symposium
• The name (s) and address (es) and contact information of the symposium organizer(s)
• A short description of the content of the symposium, not more than 300 words
• The name, address and title of the theme of each individual speaker to be invited
• The institutions or funds supporting the symposium, if any
• Please note that the maximum number of speakers is 5.

Stipends will be provided to African Neuroscientists from outside of Morocco, participating as symposium organizers and speakers.

MPP Results

After evaluation by the EAB, here are the results of the MPP Call:

1. “Physiopathology of food intake” proposed by Dr .Mohamed Najimi 
2. “Neurobehavioral Sequelae of Early Iron Deficiency in Rats and Humans” proposed by Dr. Youssef Aboussaleh
3. Merge the two proposals on "Parkinson's disease" to one proposal to e called "Parkinson disease: from bench to badside" (proposed by Prof Lakhdar Ghazal and Prof Mariano Alcañiz).

The MPP call will encourage the elaboration of multi-partner projects that can receive funding from other sources in the near future. In otherwords, the aim here is to allow N€uromed members to benefit from the last year funding to prepare proposals for other calls, after the end of N€uromed.

FOCUS ON N€UROMED Workshop in Fez from 5th to 7th December 2011

Prof Saïd Boujraf is organising a technical workshop in Fez, Morocco from 5th to 7th Dec 2011 on " fMRI and EEG".

This workshop is supported by N€UROMED Project in collaboration with the Laboratory for Functional Imaging, Faculty of Medicine Pierre et Marie Curie, Pitié Salpêtrière (Paris, France). The program of the Workshop provides a theoretical and practical training on tools and methods of acquisition and data analysis in fMRI and EEG, will allow, hopefully, a significant advance in the implementation of research projects.

The number of candidates to be supported is limited.

For a limited number of participants will be guaranteed an hotel accommodation in double room (3 nights). Coffee breaks and lunch will be supported, too.

NEUROMED will engage in a number of actions to promote and improve the quality of research in participant labs. The project will
Promote twinning and multilateral cooperation
Help centres in the MPC to recruit young researchers
Encourage long and shorter term exchanges of personnel
Encourage co-supervision of Ph.D. students
Organize workshops, lectures, summer schools and in situ training
Contribute to improving research infrastructure
Improve MPC participation in the EU’s 7th Framework Programme
